{Capturing the moments of your life}

Montgomery Homecoming - January 11, 2012

After being deployed in Afghanistan this Navy soldier was reunited with his family on January 11, 2012. We were able to get to the gate, at the San Diego International Airport, to surprise him when he got off the plane. This soldier being reunited with his son is one of the sweetest moments I have ever witnessed - Such LOVE!!!

Nathan Fletcher (San Diego - Mayoral Candidate) Gen Probe Innovative Speech

I had the distinct opportunity and honor to get involved in the community by assisting a group of special individuals promoting a better tomorrow and City of San Diego. Specifically, I assisted the Nathan Fletcher for Mayor (2012) Campaign.
For me, getting involved to support the community means supporting specific initiatives and public servants – both current and future leaders – who inspire others and strive to make achievable and tangible changes for families, our educational system, children, and the security and safety of our city, state, and country. Regardless of one’s political affiliation and traditional “right” or “left” views – it’s simply important to just get out there and inspire real change!

I took these photographs of Nathan Fletcher giving the World's Most Innovative City Speech on January 10, 2012. Introduction made by Bill Walton.

Excel Cheer Academy - San Diego Concourse Competition

I love the energy these girls give off! =)

Venice's Princess Tea Party

I had the honor of shooting a darling little 4 year old's princess tea birthday party. The attention to detail was incredible. The tea pots, tea cups, the sandwiches cut into the shape of a crown, princess dresses & crowns for all the girls, lots of jewelry, and of course the cupcakes! All the girls were just precious, especially the birthday girl - all I can say is ADORABLE! Venice (the b-day girl) Loves having her picture taken so she was on board and ready to go as soon as I showed up.

These girls had a great time. Here are some of the photos

A look back at the 2010 - 2011 season for Excel Cheer

With the beginning of the 2011 - 2012 season upon us I decided to take a look back at the photo's I took during last season. This was the first year for Excel Cheer Academy and it was a success! All the girls were energetic and charismatic as you will see in the pictures.

These girls work hard with practices a couple times a week, learning tumbling, choreography and stunts. Competitive cheerleading includes lots of physical activity. As with gymnasts, cheerleaders must learn to tumble. They perform standing back flips, round flip flops, and full layout twists. Cheerleaders will also perform lifts and tosses. For example, “fliers” are thrown in the air, held by “bases” in different positions that require strength and cooperation with other teammates.

For the competitive cheerleaders', the goal is to be the very best. During their competitions, points are awarded for difficulty, technique, creativity and sharpness. The more difficult a mount or a stunt, the sharper and more in-sync the motions, the better the score will be. A fraction of a point could be the difference between 1st and 2nd place. So they practice constantly to master their routine. Cheerleading is a team sport so without cooperation and synchronization, first place is out of reach.

In our household Cheer is a Sport. Enjoy =)

Halloween 2011

Halloween! A time for decorations, costumes, scary movies, parties and way too much candy! A couple of days later and I am still trying to stay away from the candy. Here are a couple of images I took from our spooky holiday!

San Diego Sunset - Breathtaking!

After picking my daughter up at cheer I caught this image of my children walking and talking. Their silhouettes against the sunset - just beautiful. I love taking candid shots - shots that show a genuine, honest moment between family members, friends etc.
